Global QMS Transition Reflects North American Experience
Was maintaining QMS registration treated the same way in Sao Paolo, Shanghai, Staffordshire and Sydney as it was in St. Louis? Based on discussions with representatives of two registrars with an international presence and with a person responsible for managing the QMS accreditation process, as well as an interview with the Secretary General of ISO, it has been determined that the outcome of the ISO 9001:2000 transition was likely very similar in all regions of the world where ISO 9001/2/3:1994 was embraced as a value-added approach to quality management and assurance of supplier capability for customers. Details of the discussions are included.
