Marketplace Trends: ISO 14001 Registrations Break 2,000
Barrier in North America
Stewart Anderson writes that, as of May 15, 2001, the World
Preferred Registry contained records of precisely 2,097 certificates
of registration to ISO 14001 held by North American organizations.
He notes that while growth rates throughout North America
are solid, there are some differences in registration trends
in each of the three countries, particularly with respect
to Canada, and that ISO 14001 implementation and registration
in each country is assuming a "vertical industry orientation".
Anderson explores the factors driving registration in North
America, provides data on the top industry categories for
EMS registrations in North America and analyzes the implications
of these patterns and what they could mean for your organization.
