ISO 14004 Improvements Begin With Environmental Aspects
Connie Glover Ritzert of Meredith-EMC and a US delegate to
TC 207, SC 1, writes that the June 12-18, 2000, meeting of
TC 207 was the first where WG 2 discussed actual language
changes. As a US delegate to WG 2 and a participant in the
Stockholm and previous meetings, Ritzert reports that WG 2
intends to expand and improve the guidance on determining
environmental aspects and using this information in an EMS.
She provides an inside look at the environmental aspects revision
process, including the initial approach, areas of agreement
and seven unresolved issues, and notes that the general direction
so far is consistent with the US position going into Stockholm.
