A New Modeling Framework for Organizational Self-assessment: Development and Application

Summary: [This abstract is based on the authors' abstract.] Development of a multiple-attribute decision-making (MADM) modeling framework and methodology is described for application to the scoring process against the criteria of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Model for Excellence. The MADM model allows the decision-maker to evaluate competing alternative courses of action that are characterized by multiple qualitative and quantitative attributes. The model has been tested with real data from two award application documents from an electrical distribution utility. Scores achieved have proven the validity and reliability of the model.
