Baldrige Award Recipients Share Best Practices

Milwaukee, Wis., Sept. 20, 2012 — Patient safety, innovation, aligning physicians with organizational strategy and customer relationships are critical issues for hospitals. A free webinar series offered by ASQ — the world’s largest network of quality resources and experts — spotlights these topics through best practices of healthcare role models Henry Ford Health System (HFHS), Detroit, Mich.; Schneck Medical Center, Seymour, Ind.; and Southcentral Foundation, Anchorage, Alaska. All three organizations are recipients of a 2011 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

This series is delivered free of charge as part of ASQ’s commitment to share best practices among the community of quality professionals. Healthcare professionals can register for the first of the series, which is now available, at asq.org/hctopics. Content will be of particular interest to senior leaders, governing board members, practicing physicians, quality directors, clinicians and researchers, clinical and administrative leaders. The series includes:

The Nuka System of Care: Customer-Owner and Relationship — Southcentral Foundation
A decision by the Alaskan native people to take responsibility for managing their own healthcare system led to a total system redesign.
