ASQ congratulates the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program on its 25th anniversary! The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is the highest level of national recognition for performance excellence that a U.S. organization can receive.

Congress passed the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Act in 1987 to recognize U.S. companies for their achievements in quality and business performance, and to raise awareness of these factors in gaining a competitive edge. Today, 106 international and 33-plus U.S. quality award programs promote or adapt the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence as validated management practices to help every organization, large or small, become more competitive and more sustainable.

Baldrige 25 YearsASQ has been the proud administrator of the Baldrige contract since 1989, providing process management and administrative support. For the past quarter century, ASQ has also supported grassroots efforts to expand the Baldrige Award in health care, education, and nonprofit categories. We have also championed Baldrige through various campaigns to raise awareness of federal funding issues.

ASQ joins the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in sharing a variety of resources, case studies, facts sheets, photos, and much more to help raise your voice and celebrate the anniversary.
