Mapping the Road to Success with ISO 9001:2008--The Illinois Department of Transportation Story
Abstract: DESCRIPTION: This webinar provides a fresh look at the ISO 9001 standard by chronicling its successful application in the dynamic and turbulent environment of a public service organization: the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). IDOT was the first state transportation agency in the United States to achieve ISO 9001:2000 certification for its major business processes and the agency sustained this achievement by transitioning to ISO 9001:2008 in July 2009. IDOT’s certification encompasses all processes involved in the planning, design, and construction of road and bridge improvements, maintenance of existing roads and bridges, and administrative oversight in the central administrative office and District Six in Springfield, Illinois. In this one-hour webinar, John Baranzelli, ISO Quality Assurance Officer for IDOT, will explain how the organization did it.
