Creating an Effective Quality System for Environmental Research and Development

The creation of an effective quality system for the research and development sphere presents a special challenge for quality practitioners. Even though there are clear parallels between the philosophy of quality and the scientific method, those tasked with applying a quality system to the work of scientific researchers face both technical and cultural hurdles. This presentation describes the successes and lessons learned from more than a decade of quality system development and implementation in support of the US EPA Office of Research and Development.
