The Energy and Environmental Division of ASQ has become the leading professional organization for addressing issues related to the integration of quality, environmental, and health and safety management systems. EED conferences have featured numerous case studies, best practices, and discussions regarding the integration of management systems.
EED would like to elevate the discussion regarding the need, pro and con, for an international standard on health and safety. Do we need an ISO 18000? If so, what should this standard cover and why? If not, why is it not needed?
We want to know what you, the EED members, think about this issue. You are invited to write an essay arguing for or against the development of ISO 18000. The division will publish these essays in the Winter 2002 Edition of QEHS Zine.
Please e-mail your essays to Dr. John Dew, QEHS Zine Editor, firstname.lastname@example.org, by November 22, 2002. Please include a title for your essay, your name, professional affiliation, and e-mail address.
