ASQ and Workforce Investment Act

Abstract: ASQ is doing its part to assist in the economic recovery by helping unemployed quality professionals acquire skill sets needed by industry. One way the organization is doing this is by being a resource supported through the federal economic stimulus program. Providers other than colleges and universities can be approved as training providers if they are deemed qualified to provide courses for the needed skill sets. ASQ has been approved as a WIA provider in 21 states. The major training topics for approval have included Six Sigma, ASQ certification preparation courses, and ISO lead and internal auditing. Many individuals have already taken advantage of this opportunity. Several individuals have provided valuable feedback to ASQ staff on how the training has helped them.
