Mark Olson, new product development manager, ASQ Global



Mark Olson has more than 25 years of experience in business, marketing, and project management. As new product development manager for ASQ Global, Mark works with ASQ’s headquarters and Regional Centers in China, India, and Mexico to develop, collaborate and deploy new and customized ASQ products to meet the needs of a growing global quality community. 

In 1998 he helped establish and manage the development, production, marketing, sales and deployment of ASQ’s Six Sigma training program. He served as ASQ’s lead project manager, developing and managing large-scale, customized Six Sigma training deployments. He orchestrated the development of other training programs and learning solutions for a variety of ASQ enterprise members and corporate accounts on a global scale.

As a program lead, Mark also led the competency, content development and maintenance functions of other ASQ courses predominantly focused on specific manufacturing market segments, including: lean manufacturing, ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 22000, auditing and other quality methods in traditional and technology-driven modalities. 

From 2004 to 2012, Mark served as ASQ’s technical program developer and project manager for the annual ASQ Lean and Six Sigma Conference. He is a member of the ASQ Six Sigma Forum Advisory Council as well as a contributing member of the editorial review board for ASQ Six Sigma Forum Magazine. In 2000-2001, he served as a team member to help design ASQ’s Six Sigma Forum.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and an associate of applied science degree in fluid power engineering. Mark is an ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate.
