Vidyavathi Manoherrao Kulkarni is a manager of business excellence at  Zeta Interactive Systems in Hyderabad, India. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Karnataka University in Karnataka, India and an MBA from in operations from IGNOU, Hyderabad, India. What do you think is most important in implementing a Six Sigma project?

Management commitment.

Why do you think Six Sigma is important?

To drive the organization on a data-driven road.

Why do you think quality is important?

Quality is the backbone for organizational success.

What’s your favorite benefit of quality?

Hearing success stories.

Why did you choose to go into the quality field?

At the start of my career, I did not have any other options but to take up quality. Later, it became my passion.

What’s your best advice to someone new to quality?

Develop passion for learning and experimenting with the tools. Have patience and be able to speak only through data.
