Craig Fox is a senior quality engineer in new product development at FCI, a global designer and manufacturer of electronic connectors. A Six Sigma Black Belt, Fox earned a master’s of science degree in chemical engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, and a bachelor’s of science degree in chemical engineering from Pennsylvania State University in University Park. He’s been a member of ASQ for 14 years and an ASQ-certified quality engineer for 13 years.

Why do you think Six Sigma is important?
The most important thing about implementing a Six Sigma project is management buy-in and understanding of the Six Sigma Process.
Why do you think quality is important?
Quality is important because it protects the customer.
What’s your favorite benefit of quality?
Returning customers, which means more sales and success for the company.
Why did you choose to go into the quality field?
Drastically shrinking opportunities in the US for “traditional” engineering work.
