Web Offerings,

I know you want us to work through the moderators when postings need to be deleted. Here is a current problem that shows why that cannot be done.

In the No Child Left Behind forum, a Dr. Kritsonis has posted a message. I just reported him for an ethical violation just a few weeks for using the board to promote his book. He has posted before and never responds to any comments on his posting. It is obviously a form of spamming on him part. He has listed a university connection in the past but has never indicated that he is an ASQ member or even involved with quality. In his latest postings, he says he is the editor in chief of National Forum Journal.

I would like to recommend that he be banned from using the board unless he is a serious poster and just not using it to get his name know. Unfortunately, Craig Johnson, the forum moderator, does not show his email address in his profile. I am not even sure that Craig is a regular user of the board. I even think it would be appropriate for ASQ to try to contact Kritsonis and speak to him about using the ASQ board appropriately.

If we want to have the board be a success, we need help in having well trained and active meoderators.

I have also reported Dr. Kritsonis on the Moderator's Discussion Board.

If you look at the web site for Dr Kritsonis, it is run by him and his wife and its sole purpose appears to be to sell their ideas through books and seminars. Based on his bio, he must still be a professor with Texas A&M. As an educator, you would hope that he has higher ethics than to use internet discussion boards to promote himself.

I tried to email him again and it will be interesting to see if he responds. I have no problem with his postings if their intent is to contribute to the discussion. If he can show that is his primary interest than he should be allowed to participate as long as it is two way and not just him posting once without further responses.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

One web site (http://atlasbooks.com/marktplc/10158.htm) of his book says (dated 2006) he is a teacher at Prairie
but the directory (http://www.pvamu.edu/pages/225.asp) at the school doesn't list him.

My vote is to simply delete the threads he has begun without further folderol.

I have communicated directly with Dr. Kritsonis by email. He has simply thanked me for the communication but did not acknowledge that he would no longer post. I did invite him to post and then return for discussion and questions on his topic but he did not say whether he would do so in the future. I am not sure what is lack of response means.

If he continues to just post and is not interested in follow up for discussion or responding to questions, then he is probably not providing any value to the board and his postings should be deleted.
