Supply Chain Business Continuity

Taught by
Betty A. Kildow

A one-day seminar sponsored by the ASQ Customer-Supplier Division, Supply Chain Business Continuity is designed for management, professional, and technical personnel who want to explore business continuity planning with a focus on managing supply chain risk.   Supply management professionals will gain greater understanding of business continuity planning. Continuity and risk management professionals will gain greater insight into the continuity needs of supply and procurement business units.   Anyone with an interest in maintaining a resilient supply chain will benefit by learning more about this increasingly important business practice.

The seminar begins by defining business continuity – what it is, and what it isn’t. We’ll investigate how to integrate the supply chain into each phase of the business continuity planning life cycle. The importance of identifying, mitigating, and planning for internal, upstream, and downstream disruptions and the value of customer-supplier partnerships in managing risk are explored. An assessment will be completed to measure the current level of business continuity capability and an interactive tabletop exercise will be conducted.

Topics Covered:

·     The step-by-step business continuity planning process
·     Identifying internal and external supply chain risks and how to mitigate them
·     Supply chain continuity strategies
·     Partnering with suppliers and other business partners to build continuity capability
·     Regulations, guidelines, and certifications

Hands-on and interactive, the workshop provides an opportunity for anyone with an interest in advancing their organization’s ability to deliver its product or service…no matter what…to learn more about supply chain business continuity planning. You will receive a copy of Betty Kildow’s book A Supply Chain Management Guide to Business Continuity (AMACOM Publishing) and a set of workshop materials.
