John Blakinger

John Blakinger is a partner with Transformation Systems International, Board Member and Source Leader with the Performance Center. Through his work in organizational performance, John has developed a passion for providing internal stakeholders with the tools and skills necessary to unleash an organization’s capabilities and achieve verifiably improved results. His specific expertise includes: deployment of organizational performance management systems, creation of communities of practice, change management, facilitation, strategic planning and collaborative process design.

From 1996 until 2007 John was a Senior Business Process Consultant with Alliance Data, a Fortune 400 provider of billing and business process outsourcing for utility companies. Since 2000 John implemented a performance management approach based on Edwards Deming’s TQM (Total Quality Management) and Six Sigma concepts. The intention of the practice is to provide all levels of an organization with the tools and information needed to make decisions that measurably improve business results. John has facilitated the creation of more than 400 measurements across a number of functional business areas, including customer service, software development and account management. In one division, 53% of the performance attributes measured demonstrated improvement year-over-year.

Some of the strategic changes driven by John prior to 2000 include the development and company-wide deployment of industry-standard project management practices as well as a repeatable implementation approach that reduced Customer Information Systems delivery times by 57%.

Prior to his work at Alliance Data, John was with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) for eleven years. At that global computer services company, John worked with the Oldsmobile Division of General Motors as a systems engineer, project manager, technical instructor, and manager of software development tools.

John attended Princeton University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration – Decision Science from the University of Oregon and completed Six Sigma Green Belt training.
