Ellen Pitcher has been chief nursing officer and vice president of patient services at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano since 2004. Under her leadership, Baylor Plano has earned many nursing honors, including the 2008 Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital Award for Patient Safety and the 2006 and 2007 VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence for treatment of acute myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure. The hospital also is designated a Texas Nurse Friendly hospital from 2007 until 2010. The American Society of Bariatric Surgeons has named Baylor Plano a Bariatric Center of Excellence.
