Jack West is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt instructor with a significant amount of experience in teaching, mentoring and coaching all levels of Six Sigma practitioners. As president of Six Sigma Adventures, he also specializes in the executive experience in planning and deployment aspects of Six Sigma.
As an ASQ Master Black Belt instructor, Jack was instrumental in developing ASQ’s current Executive and Champion training curriculum, as well as a majority of ASQ’s Black Belt materials. He has taught and coached hundreds of executives, champions and black belts through ASQ’s program
Recently retired from Northrop Grumman, Jack had more than 35 years of extensive experience managing the quality of design, production and support of military and commercial electronics. His work includes the development, evaluation and operation of ISO 9000-compliant management systems. Jack also served as the sector’s internal Master Black Belt, leading the training, mentoring and consulting of Black Belts from other Northrop Grumman facilities across the United States. His direct project work as a Six Sigma Black Belt at Northrop Grumman delivered over $1.4 million in direct cost savings—in a period of nine months.
Jack is a Fellow of the American Society for Quality and served as its president and chair. He is also an alumni member of the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. (1993-1997 and 1999). Jack holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Marion College, and a master’s degree and doctorate in business administration from George Washington University. He has authored and developed numerous articles and presentations on quality and related subjects.
