National Zoo

National Zoo
The giant pandas are the zoo's biggest draw, but don't stop with Mei Xiang and Tian Tian. Established in 1889, the National Zoo is home to about 500 species of some 2,700 animals, many of them rare and/or endangered. The National Zoological Center is just 5 metro stops away from the Hyatt Regency Bethesda. It is a wonderful activity for kids of all ages.

Capital Crescent Trail
While in Bethesda, enjoy the great outdoors on the Capital Crescent Trail, a rail-trail, built upon the abandoned rail-bed of the 11 mile Georgetown Branch of the B&O Railroad. The Trail is a hard surface path from Georgetown to Bethesda.
