Benito Flores was elected to serve as President of ASQ for the year 2019, after 20 years of membership and more than 10 of serving as leader on different assignments as Student Chapters Advisor, Founding President of the Professional Chapter in Monterrey, Co-Coordinator of the Global Advisory Committee and member of the Board of Directors of ASQ.
Benito is an industrial engineer with a master's degree in quality and a doctorate in educational administration. He has been a university professor for 25 years and has taught at seven universities. He has held professional and managerial positions in companies such as Vitro, Philips and Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM). He currently serves as Dean of the Engineering School of UDEM. He is certified as Quality Manager by ASQ and serves in the Board of Directors of Nonprofit Organizations such as ASQ, the Southern United States University Association (SACS / COC) and the Santa Catarina Polytechnic High School. He lives with his wife Alejandra and their three children in the city of Monterrey, Mexico.
As President of ASQ and jointly with the Board of Directors, his work will consist of 1) ensure that ASQ lives its Mission and achieves its Vision; 2) preserve the financial viability of the Association; And 3) supervise the work of the Director General of the Association.
On his appointment, he said: "I feel honored with the confidence that our members deposited in me; I will do my best effort to promote the culture of excellence in the world and to keep ASQ as the world's largest and most influential quality association. "
