Abstract: Lycoming Engines provides engineering, manufacturing, service, and support to the general aviation industry. The company was awarded the Shingo Prize in 2010 for embedding operational excellence in its culture. Through the incorporation of Lean processes, it has eliminated waste and seeks to continue improving. This case study looks at how Lycoming uses Lean processes to improve its supply chain performance.
