ASQ Endorses Berwick Nomination

ASQ Chairman Pete Andres and Executive Director Paul Borawski sent letters (PDF, 104 KB) to the Senate Finance Committee recommending the confirmation of Donald Berwick as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Berwick, a clinical professor at Harvard Medical School and the founder and president of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Cambridge, Mass., is expected to face tough questioning from some senators at his confirmation hearing.

The letters describe Berwick as one of the nation’s foremost healthcare quality leaders and praise him as “a dynamic manager and a leader who is both visionary and pragmatic.”

Andres and Borawski also sent letters supporting Berwick to the entire Massachusetts congressional delegation.
